Aquafest 5K - June 16, 1990 Melbourne, FL - RACE RESULTS REVELS & BORELL Bill McCord battled shin problems and Roger Cohen to hold onto victory in this inaugural event. This 5K run on June 16 was part of a two day Aquafest held at Front Street park near the base of the Melbourne Causeway. The race started near the Chart House restaurant on Front Street and proceeded up and back Melbourne Ave with two loops thrown in for the full 5K. The course was well marked and managed. The finish was in the parking lot and plenty of water and Gatorade was available afterwards. The tee shirts were good quality (50/50 rather than 100% cotton) with the Aquafest design. It was warm despite the 7:30 am start, but it felt ok as long as you were moving and a good breeze helped out.
